Mayfield Village, Ohio (July 27, 2009)—Motorcyclists now have an appetizing way to help their local communities. Over the next several months, America’s largest motorcycle insurer, Progressive, is giving away hot roasted corn on the cob at motorcycle rallies across the country for a suggested donation of $1 an ear.
The program, called “Corn for Kids,” benefits local Feeding America food banks to help feed needy children and their families and other charities such as Kids & Chrome in Sturgis, S.D.
“Riders are a charitable bunch—in fact, we recently surveyed male riders and found that nearly half are involved in a charity or cause,” said Marcy Gray, long-time rider and a motorcycle product manager at Progressive. “We’re thrilled to help feed bikers’ desire to give back…and their bellies too.”
Progressive’s “Corn for Kids” program will be held at:
Sturgis Bike Week, Rapid City, S.D., Aug. 1-9
American Salute, Winter Park, Colo., Aug. 14-16
Milwaukee Bike Fest, Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 4-6
Roar to the Show, Wildwood, N.J., Sept. 10-13
