The ride starts and ends in Lake George, NY and follows a figure-eight pattern up and back the eastern edge of the Adirondack Forest Preserve.
This ride covers a very diverse landscape including mountain wilderness, farmlands, quaint-villages and miles of rolling countryside along Lake Champlain. The region is steep in history and culture dating back to America’s first pioneers and their role in the French and Indian war and the Revolutionary war.
There are plenty of small towns along the way that invite an opportunity to stop and have a bite to eat, do some shopping and experience the relaxing atmosphere of Up-State New York.
Lodging is plentiful and fuel is available along the route. If you have the adventurous spirit and want to enjoy the outdoors – take advantage of the numerous State Park campgrounds that speckle the ride route.

The ride is easily accessible from several exits right off NY Interstate 87. In total, the ride is 194.5 miles and approximately 5 hours of actual riding time. However, we suggest that you take your time and enjoy the scenery and attractions along the route. This ride includes a full-day alternate route which takes you over, and into, Vermont and then leads you back to Lake George, NY. With just a little bit of planning, you can easily enjoy three full-day adventures out of this one ride.
This month’s featured ride is provided by Moto-Maps.com from their New York (eastern) booklet and was created by the company’s founder, Keith Myers.
