Ride for Kids Raises Funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
Dozens of Ride for Kids events are being held throughout the United States this summer and fall to raise funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, whose mission is to find the cause of and the cure for childhood brain tumors through support of medical research. Each event is slightly different, but all include a scenic motorcycle ride with hundreds of participants, followed by a light lunch and a Celebration of Life program that features interviews with young brain tumor survivors—the Ride for Kids “stars” of the day.
In 2011, more than $4.5 million was raised through events, corporate and local sponsorships, and donated goods and services. Participants are encouraged to get on their motorcycles and ride to help young brain tumor patients and their families. Prizes and recognition are given to top fundraisers.
The Ride for Kids motorcyclists’ program gives children and their families a way to connect with each other in a supportive environment. Every dollar raised makes a difference to children with brain tumors.
