Suzuki Motor of America held its annual dealer meeting in Orlando, Florida, in October during the inaugural American International Motorcycle (AIM) Expo, where it announced the all-new 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000, offered first rides on the 2013 Suzuki GW250 and revealed several other new models.

In 2002, Suzuki introduced the Burgman 150, Burgman 400 and Burgman 650 in Europe. The 400 and 650 came to the U.S., but the Burgman 150 remained a Europe-only model. It was revised in 2007, with displacement increased to 200cc. Having sold over 44,000 units in Europe from 2002-2012, Suzuki decided it was time to give Americans a lower-displacement Burgman option. Its liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, OHC single makes a claimed 18.1 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 12.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm, and power is sent to the rear wheel through a twist-and-go CVT.

Styling is unmistakably Burgman, but the 200 is shorter, narrower, lighter and has a lower seat than its big brothers. Wheelbase is 57.7 inches, width is 29.1 inches, claimed wet weight is 362 pounds and seat height is 28.9 inches. The rider portion of the 2-person seat is narrow in front, wide in the back, and, along with the slim floorboards, makes it easy to plant both feet on the ground. Under the seat is a 41-liter storage area that will hold two full-face helmets (claimed) and has a built-in light. Two front storage compartments hold another 5.5 liters; one is lockable and includes a 12V power outlet.

Cast aluminum wheels (13-inch front, 12-inch rear) have a 6-spoke design, and dual disc brakes with ABS are standard. The windscreen was designed in a wind tunnel to improve protection and reduce turbulence. Between the analog speedometer and tachometer is an LCD display that includes an odometer, dual tripmeter, fuel gauge, fuel consumption meter and an oil change indicator. An ECO indicator informs the pilot when he or she is being judicious with the throttle. Factory accessories include a top case, rear rack, passenger backrest, heated grips and more.

Suzuki introduced the first B.O.S.S. (which stands for Blacked Out Suzuki Special) editions of its Boulevard cruiser line for 2013. For 2014, in addition to the C90 and C90T B.O.S.S. models, there will be blacked-out variants of the C50 and M109R.

The 2014 Suzuki Boulevard C50 B.O.S.S. features Glass Sparkle Black paint on the bodywork and black treatment nearly everywhere else, from the headlight nacelle, fork and wheels to the engine and mufflers. Mechanically identical to the base-model Boulevard C50, it has an 805cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 45-degree V-twin (SOHC, 4 valves per cylinder) with a 5-speed transmission and shaft drive. It runs on cast wheels (16-inch front, 15-inch rear) with a single front disc brake and a drum brake out back. Its seat height is 27.6 inches, its fuel capacity is 4.1 gallons and its claimed curb weight is 611 pounds. Pricing and availability are TBD.

The 2014 Suzuki Boulevard M109R B.O.S.S. is the muscle bike of the Blacked Out line, and it wears it well with a black and yellow paint scheme. A yellow racing stripe runs down the center of the bike, from the front fender to the headlight nacelle, over the fuel tank and down the rear fender. Yellow pinstripes add a touch of color to the black wheels and, as with other B.O.S.S. models, nearly everything else is coated in deep, dark blackness. Like the standard M109R, the B.O.S.S. variant is powered by a 1,783cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 54-degree V-twin (DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder) with a 5-speed transmission and shaft drive. Its cast wheels are 18-inchers, its brakes are triple discs and its wheelbase is a lengthy 67.3 inches. The seat is perched 27.8 inches above the ground, its tank holds 5.2 gallons of fuel and ready-to-ride it weighs a claimed 764 pounds. Pricing and availability are TBD.

Having entered the U.S. market in 1963, Suzuki is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013. To commemorate the milestone, Suzuki will offer a 50th Anniversary Edition of its mighty Hayabusa sportbike for 2014. Mechanically identical to the base model, the 50th Anniversary Edition stands apart on purely aesthetic grounds, with a special Candy Daring Red / Glass Sparkle Black paint scheme, a red seat, red pinstripes on the wheels and other special touches. The Hayabusa is powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 1,340cc in-line four with a 6-speed transmission and features the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector and Suzuki Clutch Assist System. It has a twin-spar cast aluminum frame, fully adjustable suspension and radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front calipers with standard ABS. Pricing and availability are TBD.

For 2013, Suzuki rolled out the GSX-R1000 1 Million Commemorative Edition to celebrate having sold over 1,000,000 GSX-R sportbikes since the model line was introduced in 1985. Only 1,985 examples were built. To up the exclusivity ante, Suzuki will make only 100 examples of the 2014 Suzuki GSX-R1000 SE, with 50 units slated for the U.S. (see Hayabusa 50th Anniversary Edition above).

Decked out in Pearl Glacier White, the list of special features on the GSX-R1000 SE is extensive: polished and chrome-plated frame, matte silver bodywork with special graphics, machined and polished wheels with blue spokes, lots of blue-anodized or blue-colored-and-clearcoated parts and covers, a special key fob and serial-number plate, and more.

Just like other GSX-R1000s, the SE is liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 999cc in-line four packs serious punch, and features a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, and high-end components such as a Showa Big Piston Fork and Brembo radial-mount front brake calipers.
