Five more models have been added to the Honda street lineup for 2012, joining updated bikes like the Gold Wing and CBR1000RR, and returning models like the  ST1300, Fury and Shadow 750s.

One of the five–or two depending upon how you look at it–is the VFR1200F and VFR1200F DCT, the latter with the automatic Dual Clutch Transmission that debuted on this bike for 2010. Both bikes sport eye-popping new Candy Blue paint jobs, but more importantly will also have traction control (that can be switched off), making the VFR the second Honda to offer it (the first was the ST1100 ABS for 1993).

Honda says the VFR1200 also gets more low-end torque, a fuel tank volume increase from 4.9 to 5.0 gallons and a more stylish and comfortable seat. The DCT model also receives some improvements to its automatic transmission management software to make it even more user-friendly:

“In ‘D’ mode the ECU now intelligently optimizes the shift schedule depending on the inputs of the rider. The system monitors several key parameters and can choose between two maps: one for normal conditions, which minimizes gear shifts for smooth progress, and a second for high-load use that changes gear more readily for increased acceleration and stronger engine braking. This is useful when riding winding roads with steep gradients for example, ensuring the Dual Clutch Transmission system is always in the appropriate gear.”

A release date for the 2012 Honda VFR1200F and 2012 Honda VFR1200F DCT is TBD.

The other four bikes start rolling into dealers in February and return unchanged except for paint and graphics. They are the CB1000R in-line four naked sportbike, CBR250R and CBR250R ABS single-cylinder sportbikes, Silver Wing 600 scooter and Ruckus 49cc scooter. Prices for all five have not been released.

The automatic transmission bike gives me a chance to get on a bike and ride out with friends without having to deal with clutches a gears. Now I’m ready to buy a bike and feel apart of the crew. Thanks honda
