2013 Vespa Sport Special Edition Models Now Available in U.S.
Three 2013 Vespa Sport Special Edition (SE) models are now available in the United States. The SE models embody the style, comfort, safety and sportiness of the most widely recognized scooter in the world, while citing legendary models such as the 1955 Vespa GS 150, the 1965 180 SS and the T5 “Pole Position” from 1985.
Since its earliest days, there have always been sports versions of the Vespa, which were frequently used in both circuit racing and in major off-road competitions. The Sport versions of the Vespa GTS Super and Vespa S offer a modern interpretation of this extraordinary competition heritage, which has written unforgettable chapters in Vespa history
Even sportier and more aggressive today, the Vespa GTS 300 i.e. Super Sport SE and Vespa S Sport SE feature the attention to detail and the fit and finish that have made Vespa famous. The suspension gains a distinctive racing red finish for the front spring, a motorsports detail that makes the front view of the Vespa GTS Super Sport and Vespa S even more aggressive.
Vespa S Sport SE, reminiscent of the 1970s Vespa models, brings out the sporting spirit of Vespa with its minimalist aesthetic but high performance. The Sport graphics and the single seat saddle with white piping for the 50cc version convey a further sporty touch. The black wheels and red front suspension spring enhance the Vespa S Sport’s essential elegance even more, which complement the bold new Satin Black color.
The 50cc version has a MSRP of $4,499 with a maximum speed of 39 miles per hour. It averages 90 miles per gallon. The Vespa S 150 Sport SE has a MSRP of $4,599 with a maximum speed of 59 miles per hour. It averages 75 miles per gallon.
The Vespa GTS 300 i.e. Super Sport SE is a blend of character and performance. The 300cc electronic injection engine brings out maximum performance, whether in the city or on country roads. The graphics along the side of the rear fairing and the sport saddle with white piping complete the sporty look of the Vespa GTS 300 i.e. Super Sport SE.
The shield, the steel essence of the Vespa, is distinguished by a “score” of personality: the right hand side now sports a large grille with horizontal slots—a clear reference to the most stylish Vespa’s of the past—which gives a marked sporty touch to the side view of the vehicle. The Satin Black finish rounds out the look nicely, giving the Vespa GTS Super Sport SE a masculine, modern aesthetic.
The Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport SE has a MSRP of $6,399 with a maximum speed of 80 miles per hour. It averages 70 miles per gallon.
