Not at all, more an observation based on your experiences. I also really liked the Moto Guzzi Norge, but again, as reliable as the bike may be, not every big city has someone that can work on those. Another bike I really looked at, was the new Concours, but they seem to be going thru tires pretty quickly, and even though I change my own, having to do it every 5 to 8 thousand, vs. every 12 to 20 thousand, is a big difference.

I looked hard at the new Concours also, but didn't bite. I have two friends that have Connies and are quite satisfied with them, but it's a bike that seems to lack any soul for me.

The same goes for a Goldwing. Besides, I'm not into perfectly matching riding outfits for me and my wife, and that is a Goldwing requirement. Hah! (sorry, I couldn't resist).

lol, im with you on that one.

I dont care if its Harley Clothing or Honda, if my wife wears what im wearing, im changing my shirt. (and i refuse to wear Harley clothing while riding a Vulcan lol)

Almost makes me think that you are dealing with a bad dealership. I've never had issues getting parts for my Triumphs even when they were first model year bikes. Admittedly, I haven't needed much, but I did have to replace the brake pedal on my Speed Triple after dropping it in the driveway after only 800 miles.

What really bothers me is you say Triumph itself can't tell you why parts are so slow. Have you actually contacted the company and not been satisified? I'd almost call another local dealer and see if they can get the parts faster.

If you read back you will see this is a major problem for everyone right now. I've seen not only my backorders but many others the dealer(s) is/are waiting for. Yes I've contacted dealers all over the country and even the UK. They are all having the same problem.

Standard maintenance parts are no problem, but anything other than that, don't hold your breath. It took over 3 months just to get a replacement mirror and clutch lever. The windshield (standard height roadster model) is going on 5 months. No, I didn't fly off the handle without finding out exactly where the problem lies. Many great improvements have been made at Triumph. Parts availabliity is not one of them.

Hey Blatherbeard, I was wearing Harley t-shirts 20 years before I even had a Harley. I'd just say to my Honda riding friends "Some day..."

If i could find a 1996 Heritage Softail, id consider a Harley, but so far, for the money i just havent found too many i've fallen in love with as much as my Vulcan 1500 classic. (looks wise)

Probably why i like the vulcan so much, its a pretty close copy lol

That's terrible news. I've been reading the Triumph's sales have been steadily increasing over the last few years. I took this as a positive thing, but maybe they have overextended themselves and can't keep up with demand for parts now.

ha....I had problems getting parts back in 1971....when I still had a 650 cc Triumph Bonneville.....some things nevah change.... :-)

...ironically...my friend's son has a Bonneville ( not sure what yr ) but here in the J'ville area, there is an indy that works on foreign bikes, and when I went to his shop, it was awesome...he had parts in there for every friggin' imported bike you could think off....was able to breathe life back into that old Bonneville..
