Troops:
While at the HONDA Dealer the other day, taking my 2002 VALK in for service, looking at a VTX 1800 T, was told that the VTX 1800 has been discontinued, and the theory is that the VTX 1300 will go the same way due to the bikes being unpopular!!!! What will replace these two excellant CRUISERS?????? VALKBOY's theory, and Christmas Wish List item......a new GL 1800C/D VALKYRIE, 6 cylinder, from the Gold Wing, and this time the engine would NOT have to be hot rodded, and I'll have fuel injection, thank you. If anybody has any information on the demist of the VTX's and MAYBE reinsurgance of the "NEW" Valkrie, please drop me an e-mail elmer.ingram@yahoo.com.......THX valkboy

when i got my new tires for the Vulcan a few weeks ago, one sales guy told me that they're discontinuing the 1800 due to unpopularity and that they have so many in stock that you can still get a brand new 08 from the factory. They used the 1300 for the fury because the 1800 wasnt selling well but the 1300 was hugely popular.
Im a big guy and even i think the valkyrie is just too big for my tastes. Uncomfortable to sit on as my legs are spread real wide and, frankly, hurts my crotch.
6' tall but my inseam is only 32, making my legs on the shorter side.

Uncomfortable...you have got to be joking...right. I am 6'2 with a 32 inch inseam and the 3 Valks I have owned were the best bikes ever, I did improve ride comfort by adding Ultimate Big Boy seats and some highway pegs to stretch out a bit.
Had a rush of blood to the head and sold the last Valk and now have a 08 Ultra...great bike but not as a complete bike as the Valk, which braked better, cornered like it was on rails, got attention wherever it went and was completly reliable.
I regret selling the Valk but do not regret getting the HD, if you follow my meaning and if Honda ever have a rebirth of the Valk's I for one would be lining up for one

The tank is too wide, the handlebars were too forward, handlebars were too straight for me, and it turned like a damn tank compared to my vulcan.
