I recently bought a used Suzuki GSX1100
G motorcycle. I also have just started riding a
again after a 30 hiatus. M question is vcan
you have radials and bias tires on the bike
at the same time. I noticed a AVON STORM
AV56 160/70r17 on the rear and a Metzler
ME330 M/C58H 110/80-18 on the front. The
rear tire is a radial, however the front tire
has no "R" markings. So I assume that the
tire is a bias. Is it a good thing to run
this combination, is it a accident waiting to happen
happen? I am a 63 year old rider and am qwuite
concerned. Oh incidently, I read an article
in "Rider's" Magazine dated July 1991 and the
authorsaid it was akin to a cruise missile,
I think he was overly conservative in his
description. Thanks Jack

I remember my dad telling me to NEVER mix radials and bias plys on a car, so I would assume that doing that on a bike is waaay dangerous.

I would say accident waiting to happen , not a good idea to ever mix tires of different construction on the same vehicle. IMHO
