I wonder how many lives have been lost by people attending Erntefest and then driving home? It wouldn't be so bad if after attending this beer-fest they all slept in their respective cars in the parking lot.
By people keeping quiet about this, gives tacit approval for DUI.

Honestly, my guess is none. It's a small, rural community. They'll look the other way until something goes wrong, then there will be a crackdown. It's easy to ignore an issue as long as nobody is getting hurt.

Still, we have people whose judgement is impaired. When you consider the number of people in the same condition all hitting the road simultaneously there has to be repercussions. I agree, it is easier to ignore an issue as long as nobody is getting hurt.

I remember as a young man, feeling the false confidence and bravado you get when you have too much to drink. I'm no angel, I'm just one lucky guy who remembers that feeling and knows the consequences.

I took this picture right after I installed my drink holder. Just adding fuel to the fire.

Is that a plastic re-usable cap?

I tried a drink holder up there. It kept dripping on my tank. Moved mine to the left saddlebag guard. Much better. Whatever spills just falls on the road. Of course if it were beer, that would be alcohol abuse.

Yes.....haven't seen those for some time now, think it was just temp, only reason I picked up the Miller was the cap, picnic beer for me is Coors light. Real beer is anything dark, 'cept Guiness.

On my long rides, I alternate between the carrier on the saddlebag guard, and the holder. Most of those water bottles will fit in the holder, Gatorade is too fat. I just refill at each gas stop, helps staying hydrated. Water isn't that cold, and it doesn't drip much condensation.

We lost a biker today. ED HANDY. ED was a TRUE FRIEND, BROTHER, BIKER and PATRIOT GUARD RIDER. ED was on a PGR mission at 0630 this morning when a truck hit and killed him. He was a good rider. The driver of the truck never see ED. No alcohol involved. You just never know. Rest in PEACE BROTHER ED HANDY.

Sorry to hear about Ed, kpapa, and may God bless him. My condolences to you and to his family. It's never right that a good and decent person should be taken away like that. And on a PGR mission no less. Incredibly sad ......
