I was wondering if Y'all could help me with this. I've got a power commander USB III hooked up to my '07 Ultra with big sucker air cleaner, Vance & Hines true dual header pipes attached to the stock mufflers. The power commander has a custom map developed by Fuel Moto, the people I bought it from. They are a very reputable company and trust that their map is close if not spot on.
My question is. What should my fuel mileage be? Contacted my local Harley shop who tunes power commanders for $200. They say I should be getting about 34 mpg and not to spend the money for a dyno if that's what I'm getting. I hear other people getting better gas mileage. So tell me, what should it be for this setup.
I'm averaging 32 to 34 mpg.

Have a V & H fuel-pak , V & H Big shot duals , A Ness Big Sucker air cleaner
on my RKC and get 44 to 45 mpg. My son has power commander, Screaming Eagle air cleaner Screaming Eagle pipes on his Springer classic and gets 38 to 40 mpg. He is a little harder on the throttle. Our rides are 05's and they do not have O2 censors. The Ultra is heavier than our rides. I would think you should get better mileage than you are getting, somewhere around 40 mpg. I am old school and not into the EFI Harleys. Do you do allot of city, back roads or interstate riding? What octane gas do you run? Have fun and Ride SAFE.

Thanks kpapa, I contacted Dyna Jet last night and explained my fuel mileage question. They said my gas mileage is normal for my setup.
Went back and looked at my fuel mileage records and this is how it brakes down.
I did not start keeping records until I put the power commander on but I believe I was averaging 38 to 37 mpg with less than 3000 miles on the motor.
Once I installed the power commander I averaged 36.5 mpg. A month later I installed the Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner. I then averaged 33 to 35 mpg. Then this January I installed the Vance and Hines true Dual Header pipes to the stock mufflers. I'm now averaging 32.5 to 34.2 mpg. I took a long ride on the second of September, 150 miles mostly highway in which I got 38 mpg.
This morning I counted the number of traffic lights I go through on my daily commute, there are seventeen, twelve in which are in the first seven miles from the house. I usually catch a third of them. So I guess this qualifies as city driving.
I've gone on long enough. Just would like to know what other peoples fuel mileage is on their '07 Ultras.
Thanks all,
BlueFalcon

Not an Ultra, but close.
I have an '05 Road King Classic with 10,000 and change miles on it.
It has a Harley Stage I air cleaner, Screamin Eagle slip ons and True Duals.
There's Syn 3 in all 3 holes, and I've never used anything but BP (Amoco) 93 octane premium in it.
I don't ride what I would call "hard" but I'm certainly no pansy either.
Highway mileage is 47.5.
City mileage is 42.

And just as a point of information......................
The only time I put the windshield on is during Love Bug season (it's a Florida thing for all you non- Sunshine Staters) and my highway mileage drops off right at .5 mpg with the windshield on.

P.S.
Those figures are for solo riding.
I figure I probably lose about .5 on the highway and 1 mpg haulin my lady around (she's a little thing).
I weigh 198, btw - weight does make a difference.

I have an '04 RKC with a Stage II 95" engine, Hooker True Duals, Terminal Velocity closed loop FI and I get 36-42 in town, and anywhere up to 50+ mpg on the highway. The higher the elevation the better the milage on the highway. I run synthetic, right now it's Amsoil, the bike has 33,000 miles, Metzler tires, ape hangars, no windshield, and the mileage doesn't seem to change if my girlfriend is on back or not.

That sounds a little better. Anytime that they come out with new bikes and change the emissions I think you lose. I sometimes wonder if octane is really what they say it is. With the high price of the gas ( high octane being the highest )How much do they sell, how long is it in the stations tank before it is sold, does gas lose any effect in the tanks before we buy it? I try to buy all my gas at the same station when putting around home. I think some brands are better than others. I live in the country and it is all open road. I do not know
what my ride would get for mileage in the city. Do you think the fairing and trunk cuts your mileage? I have a windscreen ( short windshield )on my ride and
do not ride with out it. In the old days when I was tough the bugs did not hurt.
Maybe the bugs are getting tougher. I just know they hurt more than they use too. When I go to Washington DC for Rolling Thunder next May I will check my mileage in the city. Have Fun and Ride SAFE.

My 07 Ultra was bumped to a 103 with the cam and catalectic mufflers (all from Harley) and I'm getting just under 40 MPG on the highway at 65 MPH, when I ride at 70+ it drops off a couple on mpg.

I did a 200 mile trip yesterday, traveling at about 75mph on mostly superslab highway. I averaged 39 mpg.

...truth is...it's hard to get an accurate feel for fuel consumption as the tank is too small....you never know if you've got4.2, 4.3, 4.4 or 4.5 gallons in there when you fill up....and those tiny .1 increments can throw off your fuel calculations a lot...eg. 100 miles/4.5 = 22.2 mpg.......100/4.2 = 23.8 mpg...that's a 7-8% difference right there....I'm always nervous to fill my tank completely to the top, cuz I don't want it spilling over the bike....so I fill to a point where " it looks reasonable full "....I could easily be off by .5 gallon.....
I've been monitoring my fuel consumption for years, every time I fill up the bike, I write it down and calc the fuel consumption.....but my fuel consumption is all over the map...high...low...two-up...riding solo....in town...on highways...it does'nt make any difference...it can fluctuate from 35 -45 mpg....
