This is pretty much just a b@#@h session because of what happened to my favorite bike shop. It used to be a Yamaha only dealership, then came Mancuso Speed whom buys them out and moves them further across town. Well if that weren't enough I went in to buy a Kruzer Kaddy that I was going to buy before they (Yamaha) went east. Well at the new place the fluid holder I was seeking just happened to go up in price by 20.00 in 2 weeks. The kid behind the counter says I can't sell ya one anyway because we don't have anymore "i sell them that fast" (at 55.00 a pop). Well not to me puppy boy. Just for the heck of it i called parts for a tire (ME 880) that i just purchased for 140.00, they told me the price was 200.00+. Man I guess when the small company gets swallowed by the bigger company the prices head skyward. I think I can get my indy to do some tire changes and continue to buy my stuff from other suppliers. Oh by the way I bought a brand new Kruzer Kaddy for 35.00 ship and hand included off of ebay. Well i gotta run I'm gonna be late for something I just can't remember what..... Ride on, Hawg out.

Most of the shops around here charge ridiculous prices. You pretty much have to ask them for a discount or tell them you'll buy it off the internet, and they'll usually drop the price to something a little more decent.

It seems that every time someone gets bigger in the bussiness they forget about the little man that got them where they are. It gets to where our budgets can't handle what they want us to pay.. Thank goodiness for the indy guys.

As a part-time licensed (Class 01 FFL) gunsmith I can see both sides of the situation. While I am not keen on high prices, I am also not fond of customers who hold an internet purchase over my head when I try to offer good service in addition to a price that gives me a reasonable profit which allows me to stay in business. There is a reason why I work full-time in another industry and only part-time as a gunsmith.

Yes, dealer prices are ridiculous but all the more so are those dealers who have outrageous prices on top of being insulting to customers (not listening to what they want, pushing them to buy something they don't want or would be ill suited for, etc).

I feel your pain regarding high prices and poor service as there are only two places in Lawrence, Kansas where good service can be found, at the HD/Buell dealer and at the Vespa/Piaggio/Hyosung dealer. The Kawasaki and Yamaha dealers either ignore you unless you want chainsaw or lawnmower parts (has the Kawa line as a side business) with the former or unless you want to buy the largest bike in the showroom (in the case of the latter).

This was actually the first time i bought from a person from ebay, in my defence i was thrown a back by the way they could just shoot a price through the roof in a two week time and then act as if that's the going price. I also buy from other business' like J and P cycles or JC Whitney because I can sit in my living room and order it either by order form or on the internet or simply pick up the phone and order (the old fashioned way). Right now I'm wishing i could order 6 hurricane proof dog houses and a house that won't blow down when good ol' IKE hits today or tonight.... My poor dogs are in for it, family is safe at a nice sterdy home (that doesn't alow animals) and me, well I'm stuck at work just waiting to be told when i may leave. Sometimes being the police sucks but most of the time I love my career... Well let me see what kinda paper work i can get started. I'll yack at ya'all later..... Hawg gone....

You and all the people in IKE's path are in our thoughts and prayers. It's hard
to be on duty and not be able to be with your family during a disaster.
Thank you for the job you do. We will also pray for your dogs. Keep the Faith.

Thank you very much for your prayers and support !!! Our prayers were answered, very little damage to our home and our animals did very well in the storm. I had to stay at the Jail for 27 hours since I'm in support services. The whole time my family was fine but I still worried about them ( no cell phone contact and land lines were down) every minute. Everyone came through it very well. My kids place was without electricity for 5 days but all of this that happened to us is nothing compared to what everyone else on Galveston Island is going have to deal with. Well Thanks again for your support and prayers. I give thanks every day for what I have... Hawg out now....

Glad to hear you back and everyone is OK. Thank GOD for the answered Prayers. It
takes a special person to do what you do , helping others in time of need and in the back of your mind wondering about your own family , hoping and praying they will be OK. Know what you went through. Once it is all behind you take some time and have fun and enjoy your family. Life is too short. Have Fun and Ride SAFE.
