Has anyone heard whether Yamaha is considering selling the MT-01 here in the US?
I've been reding up on the MT-series from Yamaha. There's the MT-01 with the Star Raider motor and the MT-03 with the Raptor (ATV) 660cc motor. Canada at least gets the MT-01 and Europe gets both. I rode a friend’s brand new Raider home from the dealer yesterday and while I loved the powertrain the Raider has I hated the riding position. I’m more of a sport standard kind of guy.
I would have bought a Yamaha BT1100 Bulldog when they were on sale in Europe and now that it’s been replaced with the MT-01 my next favorite bike is sold just a 4 hour ride north of CT.
I'd love to see us get Yamaha USA to start selling these. US motorcycle riders lobbied and got the Kawasaki Versys here so maybe we can do the same with Yamaha and the MT-01 or maybe event the MT-03.
