Wish I could take credit for this idea, but I got it from the Turbo Diesel Register forum. After you get the filter loose, wrap it in a plastic bag, it keeps most of the oil from leaking all over the front. I used a quart size Zip Lock, lost just a bit, then zipped it up. Really cut down on the mess.

Good Idea, now try this one to completely eliminate the mess. Place a new sanitary napkin under the filter as close to the front of the filter as possible, any oil that leaks from the front of the bag will be absorbed. No mess. Hey, it really works.

I have a whole list of stuff Bounce dryer sheets are good for. And you can put them in the dryer.
