Hi guys, its the newbie here. I'm going to need a new set of tires this year for my GL1500. Just wondered what preference there were out there. I thought about Metzlers but if you look on the wingstuff sight there were several that had bad experiences with them. But then they were riding 1800s, which means radials. So I'm guessing there is a difference between radials and the biasply tires. Also thought about the Bridgestones, I have one friend that loved his. But don't want to go with just one experience.
If you know what I mean.
Any help would be appreciated...

They are all good. I like Metzlers, and Avons. But, I ride a Harley. I don't know why the same tires would act so different on the different bikes. Just go with a tread pattern you like, and a price you like.

I ride a Yamaha Venture, I also am needing tires. Everyone is telling the Dunlop Elite 3 is the way to go with a larger bike. What is take on them? Thanks

Road Dogg,
I've got E'3s on my 93 wing now. They track pretty good but now that I've got some major miles on them (can't remember how much...) I get some hopping once in a while and there is a fair amount of noise when cornering. Well, actually there is enough noise that it is irritating. And unless you keep the pressures way up they tend to cup.
Me thinks that I will go with the Bridgestones this next time. I liked the Avons except when riding over cross walk striping in a turn, when it was wet and even sometimes when it was dry.

Thanks for the info, as luck would have it The store I went to was out of the E3's so I went with a Metzler 88.
