I not the committed biker you are. I live in CT. and most people who ride usually put the bike up for the Winter. Although I have seen some guys riding in the dead of Winter, man I don't want to do that.
In the "riding season" here I don't ride as much as I would like to.
I think I would do more riding if I belonged to some kind of club. I will look into that next year. Anyway, enjoy the riding, I imagine up in IL. it gets pretty cold.

I average 11,000 yearly. This year is throwing off the #'s, I am just over 8,000 since 12-06. New grand daughter, and more hours at my part time retirement job. Time to establish priorities, anyone up for a ride 1-1-08???

Hello, I live in Alaska and am new to this site. I started riding several years ago, My first bike was a 02 kawasaki ninja 250, I outgrew that quickly then bought a 06 BMW f650. I put 19 thousand miles on in one season, which is short up here. I also took it down the alcan in late August. Because of my inexperience it was an adventure to be sure.

32,804 so far. I still have to the end of December. I track my milage from jan 1 to Dec 31st every year. The last 15 years I have averaged over 25k miles with 57000 being the most in 2000. I live in a mild climate here in the south but I ride rain or shine 365 days a year.
I'm I hardcore? I don't know, I do know I love to ride my scooter.

ArtLaunier,
I have a 2000 V* 650 with almost 11K miles with no problems and I really like the bike. I'm beginning to think V-Stars are probably the best value or one of the best values out there for the money.
Would you buy another V* 1100? How well did it hold up during the 75K miles? Any major problems? I'm asking because I've never heard of one
with such high mileage!

Used to average around 10,000 per year. Last year it was just at 1,200.

Vstar-Guy,
It's now just over 75K on my V-Star 1100 classic and I'll be riding it tomorow, I hope. The bike has held up real good for me. That is not to say that I didn't have some problems.
Thus far I have had to replace, above the normal stuff;
Starter Clutch,
Transmission Clutch,
Passing Lamps,
Starter,
Voltage Regulator
I was left on the side of the road just once due to the voltage regulator. That failure was my fault because I didn't route some wireing under the seat properly and the seat wore thru the wire insulation. This caused the regulator to go bad which over charged my battery, twice, before I found the problem. I ended up trailering my bike home for the last 100 miles of the trip. That was the only time it ever been on a trailer or otherwise towed.
With a little luck, I'll put 100K on it then I'll retire the bike and get another. I really like the looks of the raider.

Artlaunier,
Good man! A very candid reply. I appreciate that.
I sure don't know of many people putting that much mileage on one bike. I guess I will probably be one of them too unless something comes along that really catches my eye and I can afford it.
I've pretty much looked at all of the 08' bikes available and I still like the looks of my V-Star!
A couple of years ago I was checking out the new Vulcan. After signing the necessary papers to take the test ride I walked outside to mount the Vulcan and noticed a real nice Black and Chrome bike about 20 feet from the Vulcan! After 5 seconds or so I realized it was my bike I was admiring! Now how is that for stupid? I took the test ride but stayed with the V-Star. I guess I'm just a luck guy.
