After reading some good reviews on a few forums, I purchased a set of Wild Pig slip-ons back in January. I got the 1 3/4 inch baffles. I installed them and I was amazed at the good tone. Very deep throaty sound. Just like everyone said in the reviews, they were great sounding mufflers. Not too loud. That lasted until June. I noticed they seemed to be getting louder. I checked both baffles. I was surprised to find only a very small amount of thin fiberglass mat that had burned through on the right muffler. I bought some thicker fiberglass mat and repacked both mufflers. It was October when I started to notice they were getting louder again. I removed the baffles expecting to see burned fiberglass again. This time the baffles that were very hard to remove before just slid right out. No burned fiberglass on either baffle. They just don't seal anymore. The exhaust is going around the baffles. What a pain. Anybody have any suggestions?

I am running my stock mufflers now ...and I have to admit I like hearing my radio. I am looking for something with little more attitude than stock but not overwhelming. C'mon guys! Tell me about your mufflers!

I have Hooker True Duals. They have a nice deep growl. Not too loud, not quiet either. RB Racing has some nice sounding two into one pipes.

Krome Werks HP+ slip-ons not too stupidly loud, throaty sound and good HP and Torque....
a few other board (and you tube) have video / sound clips, so you can check out the sound..... btw, if you search on you tube (using the exhaust name) you should be able to find a clip of just about any exhaust system / set-up, that you might want to hear !

Those Krome Werks slip-ons look like they are really well-made. I have been leaning towards the Vance and Hines turndown slip-ons and the Porker Performance ones as well. If I could just hear a Rinehart 2-into-1, I might go that way. A lot of the performance gain numbers are so close I can just pick the sound I like. Its a big investment without hearing what you are buying. I have to admit I have been looking at some of those modified stock mufflers on Ebay, but now I'm wary of straying off the beaten path too far.

One of my riding buddies has the Rinehart 'purple end cap' thing. Looks okay on that unusual street glide blue. I have heard that Rinehart will send out replacements if you ask. A post on HDforums from last month..
