Is anyone out there using this header pipe mod? I'm looking to remove the right side crossover pipe on my '07 Ultra. It looks like this might work. However I'm concerned that the rear header will not have a heatsheild and turn blue quickly. They say its ceramic coated to handle 1500 degrees. What's the performance like after installation? What Power Commander III map should I run?

This is what I'm considering.

Fullsac Header $180+ El Cheap-O way.

Vance & Hines Headers $330+ Better Header, Better Shields.

Rhinehart True Duals $650+ Bite the bullet and get it done right.

Check it out on FullsacPerformance.com. Or google Fullsac Performance. Make sure you click on the installation guide.

I think HawgMan might be running this setup.

I bought an almost identical setup on eBay from a different vendor than Fullsac, for roughly the same price.
I've been running it on my '05 FLHRCI (Road King Classic) for a couple months now.

The bike runs cooler, has more power, and the sound is totally b1tchin'.
It cleans up the right side of the bike and eliminates a he11 of a lot of heat from your right leg.
In my opinion, there is no downside.

BTW:
All you have to do is look down the straight front cylinder right side pipe where the crossover pipe joins it to realize how restrictive the factory system is.
The crossover pipe intrudes into the straight right side pipe by roughly 1/2-inch.
My guess is it restricts flow by about 30%.

Go for it.
You won't be sorry.

They look like there working good for the owner of Fullsac Performance, you might want drill a hole in the bottom of the muffler and install a caster so you don't bend or scratch the bottom of your pipes.

Hey 1Big'n
That surplus store is 2 miles from the house.
Unfortunately I'm not home. I'm in Las Vegas on a working trip at Nellis AFB.
Had a chance to check out some bikes in the parking lot at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway while attending the IHRA Pro Drag race on Saturday. Saw the Rhineharts on a few bikes. Beautiful. Saw some 2 into 1 setups but all of them had turned blue in some spots. I made up my mind that I will go to some true dual setup. Still not sure which one.
Stopped in at the local HD dealer in downtown Vegas. Asked them the typical "How can I get rid of the heat off the rear crossover pipe?"
One salesman told me to wrap the entire pipe with some heat tape.
I said "you mean underneath the shields?" He said "No, on top of them"
Now that's got to be the craziest thing I ever heard.
Next, I spoke to the service manager. He asked me what I had done to the bike and I told him. He proceeded to tell me to remove my power commander and get a race tune and didn't push the true duals much.
He went on and on about who bad power commanders where and that if I had asked, he would not sell me one. Basically he said the the power commander will fail and short out my ECM in time and that Harley will not cover it under its warranty. At this time I had had enough and walked out of the store not buying a single thing. These people don't know a damm thing and still refuse to admit that the '07 have a definite heat problem.

Too many retailers have the attitude "if I don't sell it, it's no good" beware of these idiots. They all have something to say about any fuel management system. If you do all the research you'll find they all work, but differ in price and function. I prefer the ThunderMax ECM from Zipper's, it clearly out performs the HD racetuner, but the racetuner is still very good if you have access to a dyno, and the same with the Power Commander. But your just not going to get the fine tune out of the PC and I've only known one person that had one fail and even then you just unplug it and ride home. Of course your bike will run like sh7te.
I just sold my 05 with a PC and had to ride it to VA to the new owner, what a slug, it had no power. When I'm on my 07 you don't need to get out of my way because I'm going around you no matter what, the bike is fast and I think most of the credit goes the TM ECM. Zipper's has a new set of cams for 07's with the TM and the dyno chart is pretty impressive, I'll bet with only adding the cams I'll have the front wheel high in the air. Momma's gonna love that ride, huh.

I took Hawg man's advice and bought the Fullsac header from ebay too. Definately sounded better, better acceleration, and less heat. Thanks again Hawg man for the great advice! The new gaps in the stock heat shields show blueing or rust on the ceremic coated pipes under them. I will eventually get better fitting heat shields for true duals.
