Okay gentlemen. I've installed mid frame air deflectors, Power Commander USB III, Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 Air Cleaner Kit, Harley Davidson's Premium oil cooler and have removed the lowers from the crash bars. The Power Commander fuel map is a Custom map from Fuel Moto for a 07 with Stage 1 air cleaner and stock pipes in which I am running. The bike has lots of power and runs fine BUT, the heat that comes across my wife's right passenger floorboard coming off the aft right side header pipe reaches 100 to 135 degrees. What else can I do? If I go to a true dual setup I'm afraid it'll just move the heat to the left side header pipe. Going to a 2 into 1 pipe will route the aft header pipe away from her floorboard but will that eventually fix the heat off the aft header pipe? After installing the oil cooler, I myself don't have much heat off the motor but I bought this bike so that my wife and I could enjoy. Next time your cruising down the highway on you Ultra, go ahead, set the cruise control and put your hand down on that right passenger floorboard and feel the heat coming across that floorboard. I would appreciate your suggestions towards this matter.

Switch to a true dual pipe. The pipe will be under her feet on the right side instead of next to it and it'll be in the same place on the left side. The distribution of exhaust will be more even instead of most of it coming out of the right side. That's the only suggestion that I have for you. I, personally, think you'll be better off that way. Hope it helped.

True dual or more hp & Torque with 2 into 1, it really doesn't matter. You've come most of the way, but when you get the new pipes on there you should see a big difference. Now the bike can breathe, play with the power commander in the mid range and make as rich as you can with out losing your fuel mileage. Now that you done all this, try taking off the heat deflectors they may be trapping more heat than you think. A better choice may be the dragon wings that you can direct the air flow towards your wife's legs from the front of the fairing. I have the Rinehart True Duals on my Road Glide and I love them and they sound great, but if you look at a stock exhaust and then the RH TDuals you'll notice they don't set down next to the indent in the right side cover. They set proud of the cover and can burn a passenger with short legs or one that's not paying attention. That means Bassani is definitely out, I would check out D&D's website they have a great 2 into 1 pipe, if I could do it over I would pick them.

I can't make up my mind if I want to go with the Vance and Hines True Duals with Oval Slip-on pipes or the D&D 2 into 1 Fat Cats with Ghost pipe on the left side. Its about $250 difference between the two. I need more feedback and reviews before I make a decision. Plenty of time to think about it as the bike modification fund is all tapped out.

You'll get more power out of the D&D's. The pipe on the left side is a dummy pipe but you have to look at where the pipe on the right side. It may not be too much different from what you're experiencing now. If you Dyno'd your bike, you may have to re Dyno it or I'll send you my map for free and you can try that. I have the Vance and Hines and I like them but I can guarantee that the D&D's will make more power.

Check the gallery or forum at D&D, one guy with a softail got 18 hp from pipes, air cleaner, and a new fuel mixture (power commander or equiv.), that's pretty impressive. I forgot the Torque gain, gettn' old.

I wouldn't put that ghost pipe on, but it's your bike.

Check out RB Racing. They make a pretty cool 2 into 1 pipe.

I have seen the RB racing pipes and they are definitely a good performance pipe and you may even be able to get a pair custom fit to keep the pipe away from the passengers feet. The only thing is they are more of a hard core racing pipe, most Harley riders are looking more fit and finish and they lack the look unless you want a pipe with unfinished welds and a ceramic coated pipe.

They aren't a hard core racing pipe. They come in black ceramic, silver ceramic, and chrome. I think they look as good, if not better than any pipe out there. Check out the web site rbracing-rsr.com.
