Joeystoy,
I'm a returning rider and just bought a new 2007 leftover VTX1300C. I only have 1,000 miles on her so I may not be the expert you need, but here are a few impressions.
Like most Hondas, this one appears to be about bulletproof. It's solid, balanced and handles pretty well. I wish it was fuel injected, but it's not. You need to step up the the VTX1800 to get injection. That was more money than I wanted to spend.
My only real complaint is the seat. It feels like something they just threw on to get the bike out the door. I'm pretty certain there's a Mustang saddle in my near future. Other than that, I'm very happy w/ the bike. She's plenty peppy for my 215 lbs and gets between 37 and 41 mpg, depending on how I ride. She starts at the first crank every time. Being water-cooled she take a couple of minutes to warm up, but when she's ready to go the shaft drive is smooth as silk.
As I said, I'm no expert and there may be better bikes for you out there, but I seriously doubt you'd be unhappy w/ this one.

Took my 2007 SilverWing out for the first time this season yesterday here in Rockford, IL. It was great to be back on the bike!

I meant to post monday that sunday was a balmy 48 degrees so we took the bike over to my brothers house, then my brother in laws. So a nice 6 town ride of about 50 miles or so. We like to go the roundabout way when on the bike....im sure just like all of us lol

2 weeks ago, Greg planned a ride, up around Hood Canal, across the floating bridge, and back down along the Sound, and home. Well, we all got together for breakfast, but cancelled the ride due to snow. Dang global warming and all that.
Reset the ride for the 23rd, same route. Watching the news last night, the forecast is for chance of SNOW as a front moves in, along the north part of Hood Canal. You have got to be kidding!!! Wives are all questioning our wisdom, and we promise to change direction if it looks bad.
Breakfast at the Iron Horse

Greg leads us out of the lot, and out onto the freeways, thru Tacoma, and across the Narrows suspension bridge, and we make a quick stop at the weigh station, just outside of Gig Harbor, on WB SR 16. Everything is good, and we roll on. Weather is good, temps are in the high 30's or low 40's, and everyone is plugged in or heat on. We peel off 16 at Purdy, and take SR 302 to SR 3, then left onto SR 106. No corner carving today, lots of wet spots in the shade, just a steady cruise. Next stop at Twanoh State Park, for a break and a stretch.

Back on the road, westbound, you can see the weather moving in, the ceiling dropping, and the rain shrouding the hillsides across the water. We stopped at a farm store, to assist Mark in getting his radio back on line. He discovered that the StarComm was voice activating to transmit, anytime he talked, and then it would hold the transmit for about 10 seconds.

Back on the road, but the rain eased back, and we cruised north on SR101. Easy pace, just nice to get out, and not be held up by tourist traffic. Lunch at the Halfway House in Brinnon. Nice place to eat, Dean was looking forward to a double order of oysters, but they were down to 3!

Great scenery along the Canal, and at an easy pace, actually got to enjoy it. 101 north to SR 20, then right for fuel just outside of Port Hadlock.

East across the Hood Canal floating bridge, and south on SR 3, thru Bremerton, to SR 16. Rain is heavy now, and we are just heading for home. Pay the tolls, stop for one last stretch, say goodby's, then across the Narrows bridge, and into heavy traffic. Mark heads north on 5, and we exit to SR 18, east bound. Greg and Dean continue east as I exit to Auburn. Good day to get out, ride with friends, and retrace some roads we hadn't been on for a while. 225 miles.

Yesterday went out for 3ish hours from Derry, went through all the towns connecting me to Milford NH out 102, up through Nahsua center, hit 101A through up to Milford to meet my new friend who Owns/operates Pennichuck brewing co. Had 2 1/4 pint tastings of St. Florian--a nice Dopplebock, and a taste of High and Mighty's Purity of essence(he is brewing a batch for High and Mighty, as they are shopping for breweries to brew their beer after having issues with another brewery). Both beers were spectacualar.
Then left out backroads through Amherst Nh, back towards Derry, ending up coming back most of the way via 101 as it was getting chilly and had forgotten my real warm weather gear.
Started out around a 48ish day, thermomiter claimed it was just as warm when i got back as it was when i left but the sun had gone down and the wind mustve just blown through my sweatshirt as i felt colder.

Two friends and I rode south out of Coeur d' Alene ID and turned east on Conklin Rd which finally takes you to Hwy 5. We then turned east into StMaries ID and up the east side of Coeur d' Alene Lake on Hwy 97 then hit I-90 back to Spokane. A great day for a afternoon ride.
