I picked up my Lava Red RKC Saturday from St. Petersburg, FL and took it for a little ride for about 2.5 hours home. Its a 2004 with a lot of extras. I shopped around for a few weeks and I beleive I got the right bike and a great deal...
One of my first questions to you guys would be about the squeaking brakes. I briefly read something about this before I bought the bike so my expectation were already somewhat set. Should I pursue getting the dealership to help me with this or is there a secret/simple fix???

I like your taste in motorcycles, but your football team is another story...

Gringo, that is one hellava photo. Very nice. Do you do enlargements to hang up, like a painting?

Payloader - Thank you!! Yes I do sell them. I sell a lot of photos, and the lighthouse is among my top sellers ( a balloon pic is also popular). They are available in many sizes. See my web site rsphotogallery.com for examples (and don't buy from there. If you want a copy of one just PM me here)

I recommend everyone going to Gringo's web site. I believe everyone of the pictures is fantastic. Gringo I did know you were so talented.
Congratulations!

Hey BIKELOVER96, what is a "pc 111? And did you put your k&n filter in the standard air cleaner or did you change that too? I recently traded my sportster in for an 08 road king. I have had the bike for a couple of months and have been in heaven. I have heard that the touring bikes under certain conditions may wobble. I haven't experienced that yet, but then I haven't really pushed it. I saw you put a true track on your bike. Have you had a problem with wobble on your bike, and if so, can you give me some info about under what circumstance it happened?

Hi ARTHURN thanks for your enquiry;a pc111 is a power commander module that piggybacks your factory ECU and enables you to alter your fuel injection delivery to change your power curve and economy etc..on a dyno, yes i left my standard air cleaner housing on as i like the look of it i just wanted it to breathe a little better and i have tried the screaming eagle filter but it just fell apart after 6 months.TRUE-TRACK is so good i think they should be a standard item on baggers the bike is so much more stable on direction changes no more arse-end wobbles great investment and together with the 2" fork extension the bike is nice and stable at 160-180kph as well as the extra ground clearance you get lets face it none of us like the sound of our bikes dragging on the road hope this is some help to you BIKELOVER96

Hey BIKELOVER96, thanks for the info. Can't decide for myself if I want to go to true duals or just add slip ons. Also I am waiting to see if thundermax will come out with an ecu for my bike so I can keep the O2 sensors.

Congratulations on buying the newest H-D collector's edition. The brake squeal can be easily fixed by flipping the rotors. The stealership can do it, but so can any local wrench. You can do it yourself, but remember...those two wheels are what's between you and the asphalt. Don't do it unless you know what you're doing.

Once you've switched the rotors (left for right & vice-versa) the bike will stop quietly. You'll hear the RKC squeal if you brake while walking it backwards.

You won't get rid of the scraping noise. That's permanent.

Enjoy your custom. I regularly hit the twisties on mine and, while I still move over for the 'busas, I've given a Ninjette or two something to think about as I passed them.

G'day from Australia..I bought my RKC in december 06 and have done 16,000 km so far including a ride of 8000km last xmas and i love it! I hated the standard bars and put genuine Harley STREET SLAMMERS on they work fine for me, also put sundowner touring seat with both backrests which are left off around town, tinted medium screen, braided brake lines,pc111,k&n filter,true-track,2"extended forks for a bit more ground clearance, and tailgunner rotary cannon cans with true duel headers and i get heaps of great comments about my bike and 1 last thing its sunglo colour looks great with the black and chrome especially when the tinted screen is on,its my first Harley and i'll never regret buying it RKC's are a class ride.

G'day Cobber!
Congratulations on being the proud owner of a soon-to-be iconoclastic piece of American iron.

One of these days I'll get back to Oz and see what it's like to ride there. I had a short visit there 20 years ago with the US Air Force and the only bikes I saw were the posties. Scary.

One more thing about swapping rotors. You have to use brand new bolts, whoever is doing the work.
