Thank you for the great tip KYFLHRSI. I changed the 2-piece clamp for the one you suggested and, on top of being safer, my 16" apes feel way better.
Thanks again, bro!

I rode to my grandson's soccer event, while there we had a heavy rain storm. Everything flooded in minutes. When I was ready to leave my RKC would not start.
The lights and fuel pump worked but when I hit the starter button the turn signals and security system would come on. I reset the system and it did it again. It did this 5 times before it finally started. Only thing I can figure, something got very WET. Has anyone had this problem? Have fun and ride SAFE.

After fighting with the new brake lines I finally got them bled on Saturday (the very last chore in my handlebar upgrade project). So, today, I took the bike out for its maiden voyage with the new apes- they are fantastic!

Speaking of brake lines..........There's a nice little trick for spongy front brakes. If your front brakes are spongy after you replace a line, take a piece of shoestring and hold the brake down as far as it can go. Tie it to the handgrip overnight. If everything goes well, it'll be fixed in the morning. It's simple but it works.

Quote: Right on Red. By the way I think you have the only Real Red bike in existance. They stopped making that color before they stopped making the bike.
Sunglo Lava Red was only made for 1 year also......if I'm not mistaken. However, I've been wrong before.
