LionFan- I am around most weekends and always up for a ride. We can meet somewhere in the middle, maybe cruise the bourbon trail? I am still new the area so open to ideas.

HOOO RAYYYYYY !!! I get to go home tomorrow!!! Been here in the UK for three solid weeks now and had a very successful trip.. but enough is enough for now. I get to go to Canada to see my Sweetie.. then I will go to Miami for a few days (in about two weeks) and visit my motorcycle -- It has two wheels and chrome stuff on it if I remember correctly. Not sure I remember the color though. This is the longest I have gone without riding in YEARS... it sucks!

Not sure where I go next..thats up to my company. But for now, I can assure you I will be with my Gal, and we ain't seeing daylight for DAYS.

mmmm -- Bourbon Trail, every time I go thru there, my liver starts to twitch...and every time I pass it by because I am on a tight time leash. I just love Kentucky, drive thru liquor stores, and really decent folks.

Payloader, great trip story, I just now had enough time to read it. Wait until your kid starts riding, my son and I have had some good rides together.

Hey Red, did you get a new harness? I was going to mention it, they have a wiring harness that you can get in varying lengths. It just plugs into the connector plugs at the frame, and it gives you new buttons for the controls. No soldering.

Well, thanks to the brains and experience on this board I was able to find a great spot for my highway pegs. I'm now in the heal on floor board and toe on highway peg arangement. Thanks guys.

BTW, was anyone tried to put a plug on their scoot so they can plug in a cell phone etc? Is it possible? I could have sworn mine had one, but it sure isn't apparent to me now.

Did you move your floorboards out with 1 inch spacers? This will give you a little more room for your feet when resting your heel on the floorboard and toe
on the pegs, especially on the right side by the brake pedal. 1 inch dose not sound like much but you will be surprised. Just a suggestion that works for me.
Glad the heel and toe position works. Have fun and ride SAFE

Here's what you need to do up your cell phone plug...

I wish, I spent the last two nights cutting pieces of wire and soldering. I used 16 gauge copper wire with tin plating... I hope it works....

Also, for the record, this was not as easy of a project as I expected. In fact I am not yet finished because it turns out I need to order a custom brake line from Barnett. You can order 6+ over cables for Throttle and Idle, and Clutch, but not brakes? Don't know why.

For anyone else contemplating this, here are some things that you will end up having to do that you may not have expected:

- to get to the clutch cable connection, you will need to remove the transmission interface cover, which will likely require removal of your right side exhaust.
- to detach the throttle and idle cables, you will need to unbolt your gas tank and lift it up, which requires you to drain it (or at least I did) which requires you to remove the dash.
- you obviously must remove the entire nacelle to get the where the bars mount...
- also, when putting the apes on, you are supposed to replace the two individual brackets that hold down the bars with a one-piece top clamp. You can get one from HD for under $20 bucks.

All in all, not impossible, but for me, it is a little overwhelming, but I am half way finished so I am press on- (no choice as my bike is essentially laying in pieces in my garage...)

Does anyone have any tips on an easy way, or trick, if there is one, to connecting the throttle and idle cables to the bike at the aircleaner? I have the screaming eagle stage one filter if that matters.

When I get it back together, I will write and let you know if it starts, and what works/doesn't etc... I have my fingers crossed.

-> Thanks, Greenman! Great to be back!
