G- I had no idea you were an X-IT guy also. 10 years with ATT/IBM working on mainframes and PC/Mainframe applications, and analysis. Did a stint as a testing project leader and finished with outsource training. Go figure.

Hey King,
Yep, IT it was until May 2006. Started as a COBOL programmer, AIX systems tech, did Oracle 2000 development and DBA work, was a Peoplesoft consultant, a systems administrator and workforce development lead. Was fun for a awhile!

There is an enterprise Project/Portfolio Management tool you IT guys may know called (CA CLARITY It is used to administer large scale IT departments thru managing projects, portfolios, resources and overall IT financial administration. It used to be called Niku. (Thank god they changed that!  ) If you know what PeopleSoft is to HR, or what JDE is to Accounting, then you understand what Clarity is to IT departments. I am a senior Clarity architect/guru - for the past 6 years, I have been implementing the Clarity system at Royal Caribbean Cruises here in Miami. For two years earlier I did other PM things at RCCL.
I am now going to work for Xinify Technologies When companies implement the Clarity system, they need help. CA (the owners of Clarity) help companies roll out basic time keeping for IT and basic Project Management. When those same companies need more - like full Portfolio and/or Resource management, CA sends them to Xinify. We bring them to the next level. Clients include some of the largest companies in the world, like Walmart, Ford, Bank of America, Harley Davidson,  etc. I will be a road warrior going to these companies and helping them with these roll outs. It is a VERY specialized field, but growing incredibly fast. The system really works well, but it is highly complex. If you really want more details, I will be happy to keep explaining, just PM me here.. no reason to hijack this thread! 
For those of you looking for IT work, I may not be able to help much. Clarity is a VERY specialized field, and that is my practice. But if you know something about it, please PM me.
I am still not sure of my first round of travelling, but I will be splitting my "weekends at home" time between Miami (still the permanent home) and Toronto, where my fiance is living until she joins me in September (yeah, I fly a LOT.. lol)
You guys are all great friends, and I really look forward to the chance to meeting many of you and riding with you in the next few months/years!

Interesting Gringo - I actually am a Software Engineer but I had to ask what you did that had you running all over the country. Sounds exciting but with a wife and 3 kids that's exactly the type of job I couldn't have.

I understand Rocky. I have three kids also.. all grown and OUT (thank god!). The road warrior thing takes some getting used to -- I have done it before, so I know the drill very well. With young kids at home it is NOT a good thing to do.
