RE: 09 RK needs a new seat

Another recommendation for Mustang. They make great seats. love the mustang. they do tend to lift you up and forward a bit tho.

RE: Victory Cross Country?

getting back to the orignal thread. test rode the cross roads, cross country and 8ball vision today. have to say the cross bikes handled like a dream with plenty of power and what really surprised me was how low the center was. being short it felt like i was on my old honda cb350. the vision was nice too. i never liked the looks of the vision but with the blacked out scheme it kind of looked cool, kind of like the batman bike. but not cool enough to buy. but the cross country is gonna be my next bike for sure. i know i am kind of prejudiced but anytime i can ride a bike for free i do. The Mo Co is offering some killer financing on 09's, 1% iffen ya qualify. What was Victory offering as an incentive? a damn good motorcycle.

RE: Victory Cross Country?

what it boils down to is you should ride what you love and love what you ride. screw what others think. i personaly love my Vic. i didn't buy it to impress anyone but me and i did that years ago. i've seen snobs on every kind of bike, screw 'em.

RE: Victory Cross Country?

10ecjazzman i think you had a great comment with the market Victory is trying to reach. i expect them to come out with a sport bike soon to target the younger riders. with HD burying buell the market is right for an American made sport bike. If they try to compete only with crusiers against HD they'll get buried. and Alex, thanks for the compliment.

RE: Victory Cross Country?

Everyone's idea of what good quality is, is different. And you can't argue with the fact that there are still many thousands of 50-75 year old Harleys running down the road daily. I'm not talking about museum restorations appearing at shows on sunny days either. pretty much the reason i went with Victory. everybody has a HD. use to be they were the bike but now everyone owns one. I like the fact that i ride an American made bike that is different. HD should of never made it so easy for anyone to own one but i guess when you're making money hand over fist.......

RE: Victory Cross Country?

Anyone see a Victory Cross Country up close? Looks good from a distance of 25 feet, but when you get close, you see plenty of blunders and short-cuts. Fairing looks great, but what are those "bat ears" doing on the windshield? And that "flying butress" engine guard? The motor could use some work as it looks like it was designed for an air compressor and unfortunately sounds like one. Mufflers look Japanese, but I guess you can fix them with a hack-saw. Front & rear fenders and saddlebags look like Victory spent all their resources styling these items. Wheels are just plain ugly. Geez!! I know this is a first attempt of a new model, but bizaaro styling seems to be Victory's penchant--not modern engineering. C'mon Victory! well you're not gonna confuse it with a harley, honda, yamaha or all the other look a likes. i personaly think it looks great. test drive one and you'll see and feel the difference. nice to see another american company step up and give us riders what we want.

RE: Road trip to Sturgis...

done it a couple times. 1,000 miles for me. made the ride in 2 days. absolutley beautiful country and they treat ya like gold. if you have never done it do it at least once. last time i did we went the week before the ralley started. still crowded but not as crazy and prices were a little cheaper.

RE: carry and air compressor?

Thanks for great idea - have you ever heard of problems with tire after using slime? never had to use the slime. so i'm not sure. if it's anything like using tire sealer/inflator probaly leave a mess.

RE: carry and air compressor?

pick up a kit made by slime. comes with sealant a small compressor. haven't had to use the slime but the compressor works great and is pretty small. heres a link to one, you can get a better price elsewhere tho. slime
