RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

GPS? Half the fun of riding is getting lost. Until it rains or hails.
Yes, but a GPS has the ability to help you find the nearest watering hole.
Even when you're lost - there are priorities.
We're going to ride about 4,800 miles. Plenty of riding without getting lost or stuck in the dessert too far from a gas station.
A gas station is NOT a watering hole.
Really? No wonder they always get mad at me when I drink my High Life at Sunoco

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Taking the raod Glide (and the wife) out to the Grand Canyon in June.
New Corbin 2up Seat
New (taller) windshield
New Highway Pegs
New travel bag and saddle bag liners
Now I need some opinions from you guys on pipes and stage one.
Since the 2010 only has one pipe anyway, I'm thinking that opens my options up a bit.
RB racing (per Greenman) do look good. Any other opinions?
Also, what about stage one? I have it on my RKC with SE slip on's and it for sure "feels" like it has more torque than the road glide that is 96" as opposed to the King that is 88".
Not sure if it is an actual payoff or not?
Also, anyone know if there is a good reason why I couldn't just use my car GPS? The ones they make for motorcycle are almost 10X as expensive.

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Detroit has its problems for sure, but there many good things about it as well. People think of Michigan and the only thing that comes to mind is Detroit. Its a big, beautiful state, and not too much of it is like Detroit and Flint. That's ok though, it will make buying my slice of heaven cheaper when I get around to it.

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

When I was a kid in Michigan I always wanted a snow machine. Now, it doesn't seem like there are enough days with snow to make it worthwhile. In cinci, it would just collect dust for all but maybe 10-12 days.

Nothing at HD is priced reasonably. I took off the heal shifter on my scoot and they wanted $50 for the little chrome cap! It doesn't look that dang bad!

Thanks for the advice Ride, but these are solid bottom versions, no holes to pull anything through. I will use the beer however...

Thanks Hawgman, I'll try that. There are "tabs" that are supposed to come together. Because I can't get those tgether, the inserts just won't stay on.

I bought some passanger floor boards for the road glide. I can't get the rubber inserts to "seat" I'm ready to wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap and stick in it my bench vice.....

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Hey guys hope you're all well. I have been doing a good bit of riding this summer.
Got back from Sturgis in one piece, so I can scratch that off my bucket list. I actually highly recommend a ride out to the black Hills, but I don't think I'll go for Bike week anymore. Too crowded with people in their biker Halloween costumes and the rooms are way too expensive. I'm no biker, but at least I don't pretend to be one either. The riding was great though.
I put a deposit down on a 2010 Road Glide yesterday. Red (even though Red is yucky). It'll be my two-up scoot. I'm keeping my '04 RKC forever though. It's still a Badass MOFO.
