RE: muffler packing

Sorry to take so long to give you some more input on this subject but i have been mending from an accident caused by a 19 year old female turning in front of me, of course she tried to blame me since i went down and did not hit her van. isn't that the object, not to hit the vehicle? to bad i was riding with a cop, cited her ass on the spot! anyway, you can also use fire box door rope to wrap your baffles, it comes in a bunch of diameters and sells by the foot, very cheap and will last a long time. saw this on the net, google it and the site will come probably come up for you. can't remember the exact address right now.

RE: muffler packing

Go to ebay and type in muffler packing motorcycle. The sites selling that product will come up and display their goods. You can then see the brands they are selling and google them to see which particular one will work for you.

RE: Ultra/roadking road trips

I always tell the critics the same thing, if you weren't so interested in my harley why are we having this conversation then? It's during the pause that I walk away.

RE: Ultra/roadking road trips

Hawg Man, H-D did actually think about rubber mounting the B motor but said it made the bike so vibration free it did not seem like you were riding a harley. The comment was made by and exec at our POT meeting a few years ago, maybe bs, but it sounded logical at the time.

RE: Ultra/roadking road trips

Rbudach, back to your initial question, I to have thought about adding hard bags to my 07'. The aftermarket makes a great kit to do this, you can, as well, add a bat fairing and a trunk if you like. I have seen a softail with this conversion and thought it was bagger until I saw the oil bag. The storage you get from this conversion is equal to what you would get from a bagger. The added weight may require you to change out your shocks to ones with a heavier spring and a little different damping, of course you may be ok by ramping up the pre load on your stock units.

RE: Ultra/roadking road trips

Hawg Man, o5' RK has "A" motor. Diff between motors is that one is balanced using an active balancing system (chain driven balancers) and the other does not. Some will say the balanced motor does not handle the higher revs as well and they are probably right. Haven't been there yet on my bike.

RE: TCB brake systems

I have used Lyndall brakes for years, their pads are hard to beat and their rotors are just as good. I used a solid ductile iron rotor on the back of my 98' FLHR a few years ago with a GMA 2 piston caliper and lyndall pads, I could ride the rear brakes all the way down the Sierra's if I wanted, it was that stout! Good stuff.

RE: What to Wear in the Summer

Yes, a mesh jacket is the way to go. Air flows thru it and it has armor in the right places (removable) and the material will protect against road rash. Acutally, I find that wearing a damp shirt underneath when riding in hot weather almost makes it to cool sometimes. Fieldsheer makes great stuff and is usually sold at discounts on the net.

TCB brake systems

Has anyone on this forum heard about or used the TCB brake system on their bike? It is, in a nut shell, mechanical ABS for your motorcycle. The web site is www.tcbbrakesystems.com and will explain the product better than I can. I am interested in this product since my 07' FLSTC does not have ABS and I would be interested in any possible experiences anyone may have had with this device.
