RE: Yearly Mileage

. When I was a kid, I rode a bicycle for years without a helmut, nobody wore a helmut in those days. I fell off the bike like most kids did and never gave a thought to wearing a helmut. Go figure!
Ride Safely
I never and still don't wear a bicycle helmet. I had some royal wipeouts as did my friends when we were sprouts and none of us ever hit our heads. If we had I would feel different.
I wear a motorcycle helmet even up and down the driveway.

My only no riding day is usually 100+ or rain. Other than that, you cant PULL me off the bike usually.

RE: Yearly Mileage

Hot is a bugger. I recall once wondering if I was going to make it the last 100 miles home. I was sweating faster than I could replace it (not really). The temp was only about 85 but the humididity (yes I spelled it like that on purpose) was that much also. I prefer: No wind or very little, no shadows for critters to hide in, full sun and about 75 degrees with lo humididity....Guess that makes me a fair weather rider....Yup.

RE: Yearly Mileage

My mileage is way down this year. Less than a grand. I have ridden all the local roads enough that there isn't anything special there.
My knee was and is gorked so that kept me off for 6 weeks.
I have ridden three days straight but that was only to town...about 12 miles away to do odds and ends. When my daughters are in town I take them around a lot.
I enjoy riding so much but those near death experiences tend to stick in my mind longer then when I was a sprout.
If someone offered my $4400 for my bike I'd sell it but am not trying to actively.
I wish I had a bike that weighed 200 pounds less. It would help my knee but I am not buying another bike for that reason. My bike is paid for and that means it's mine so even if I am not riding it everyday I have it when I want it...and that's the most important thing to me
Peace
